CHERISHED Video and Song

August 30, 2011

I’m really, really, really excited.  I’ve been waiting for the official release of CHERISHED so I can show you this video that I recorded with Christian rapper Da’ T.R.U.T.H. and his wife, Nicole.  I’m excited because it so perfectly captures what this book is about….redemption and restoration in Christ.  And I’m excited because I want you to hear the SONG that goes with the book, featuring CeCe Winans!  Watch the video, marvel at the greatness of God…and of course, I hope you buy the book. :)

I wanted God’s amazing grace, mercy, and redemption to be central, so I’m SO thankful that that’s what is coming across. “What an awesome, mighty, loving God we serve”…YES and AMEN! Love it! Sounds like I’m going to be getting into some rap myself, now. LOL. Btw, Kim, Cherished is a great story! I finished last week and my thought was: Now how do we get Kim Cash Tate and Tyler Perry together? Great job, Kim. It’s great to see all God is doing with you.

    • Reply Kim Cash Tate August 30, 2011 at 9:25 am

Yes, you should check out Christian rap! :) The lyrics are God-glorifying and this particular CD is saturated with the power of God to redeem and restore. (It comes out 9/13.) I didn’t know you’d already read Cherished! Thanks for reading and for your words of encouragement! And um, yeah…you can pray about the movie thing. God is able! :)

Apparently, those who pre-ordered got their copies in August. A friend of mine did and hers arrived mid-August. I pounced on it the moment she was done :-)

    Hey Kim,

Really want to read your book and buy this song for my listening pleasure! Thank you for writing a book with this very important message. In a world filled with pain, I imagine there isn’t a person out there who wouldn’t benefit from reading it.

We all want to be cherished and loved in an unconditional way! Only Jesus can do that perfectly for us. I pray that God will move me out of the selfishness that can creep into my heart, and help me to love and cherish those around me as I should.

What a beautiful title. Written by a beautiful person, inside and out!

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness…The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Jer. 31:3/Deut. 33:27

    • Reply Angie August 30, 2011 at 9:31 am

…and my youngest son loves rap, and most of it isn’t worth listening to! Do you have additional suggestions for great Christian rap artists?

      • Reply Kim Cash Tate August 30, 2011 at 10:07 am

Definitely check out Da’ T.R.U.T.H. :), and there are lots of other great Christian rap artists who truly lift up the Lord through their lyrics. Check out Lecrae, Ambassador, Flame, Thi’sl, Trip Lee…just to get you started. Then I’ll give you more. :)

    • Reply Kim Cash Tate August 30, 2011 at 10:05 am

Angie, I really believe that too, that we all want to be cherished and loved in an unconditional way. God put that yearning inside of us, and as you said, Jesus is the one who fills it completely and perfectly. I love that! And like you, I pray to do better about loving and cherishing those around me. Thank you so much for your sweet words of encouragement. You’re a beautiful person as well, inside and out…so glad I know you! :)

Let me just say this. (Clearing my throat.) How in THE world did you get me to want to take Heather into a loving embrace after Faithful?!?! Excellent! Excellent, indeed. (Just a taste of my thoughts for now.)

I can’t wait to have a Tweet Blast on this book. I may even have a gift-away soon on my blog, featuring Faithful and Cherished. Woo!!! Oh my!

And a word of encouragement…KEEP writing. As an avid reader (that person who has to have a book at all times), I gotta tell you, YOU ROCK!!!

        Love you much.

“How in THE world did you get me to want to take Heather into a loving embrace after Faithful?!?!” Haaaa! I love that!!! I know, I kinda left things hanging with Heather, in her unredeemed state and all. ;-) Funny because I didn’t like her in Faithful either, but gained a heart for her as I wrote Cherished! God teaches me so much as I write. I love that I’m on the journey as well. And that word of encouragement is SO appreciated. As I edit this current manuscript, I’m thinking (as usual) that it’s just not where I want it to be. But I need to always lift my gaze back up to the One who gives me the grace. Your support means tons! Love YOU much! :)

You made me cry! As did Da Truth.

I’m NOT a Christian rapper-fan (I’m not any sort of rapper-fan) but I’m downloading Cherished asap. Can’t wait to share it with my daughters and husband. Also can’t wait to read your book!

I’m writing a blog piece called Beautiful Scars. It’s about scars are ugly reminders of terrible times in our lives. But scars are also reminders of how we can survive and triumph. Which makes scars symbolic of our faith, our strength and our resilience. Sounds like that’s what Cherished is about.

Powerful God-stuff, Woman! Thanks for sharing with us.

It comes out Sept. 13, but how awesome that you’d want to share it with your daughters and husband! Thank you as well for your support of the book. Love what you shared about “beautiful scars.” They ARE symbolic of faith, strength, and resilience. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. So appreciated!

I get so excited when I hear and see other young believer’s in Christ really doing God’s work genuinely and sincerely and that’s what I’m picking up as I get myself familiar with your work and who you are. I left another comment on your “About Kim” page on the “tell me about yourself” statement and I commented on the youtube clip with Da Truth. It was refreshing to hear and see “real life” reconciliation, forgiveness and transparency. All I can say is….Go head GIRRRL!…please keep doing what your doing. You have truly encouraged, inspired and given me hope that just maybe when the Lord fills my mouth with something to say others will we drawn in to listen and be touched just as I was today by YOU! =0) Be Blessed

I’m thanking God for your uplifting words and love that you felt the message of reconciliation and forgiveness through that video. Their transparency is so refreshing and I pray will help countless numbers of people. “You have truly encouraged, inspired and given me hope that just maybe when the Lord fills my mouth with something to say others will we drawn in to listen and be touched just as I was today by YOU!” That’s already true! When I read it for myself that he did, I was disappointed. But we all make mistakes….. On to your book I can’t wait to pick it up on Friday… I was just telling my best friend that I havent read a book in months. Of course she was in shock because I’m like a book worm. Can’t wait I’m getting excited just thinking about it. ( All smiles my way). Also I will support Da Truth!!! :)

Kim, I have been trying to whatch this video all day, but was inundated at work. Thank God I was busy, because I was tearing up at “hello”. By the time the song began to play, refreshing tears were streeming down my face. My God, I could feel the love, compassion and sincerity between Da T.R.U.T.H. and his wife. I am so happy and thankful unto God for rebuilding their marriage and for giving them the strength to perservere when I’m sure it was much “easier” to give up. They are a true reflection of God’s love in so many facets.

I just downloaded Cherised onto my iPad and cannot wait to immerse myself into this novel!

I agree with both Kim Teamer, “You Rock”! and Sade, “Mr. Perry, or Bishop Jakes, here’s an awesome movie for you!” So happy that our paths have crossed. You are truly an inspiration to me!

The backdrop of Nashville was gorgeous!

I could feel the love, compassion, and sincerity between them while I was there, and I’m so glad it comes through on the video. “They are a true reflection of God’s love in so many facets”…YES! And thanks so much for downloading Cherished! I’m serious, y’all need to go on and pray about a movie deal. lol So blessed by your encouragement! xoxo

Wow, Kim, if I didn’t already have the book, I would have to run out and get it for sure. Now, I’m going to have to get this CD!!! This video is beyond awesome. How awesome that God can use a fictional story that parallel’s a true life story to reach other people. It is that opportunity to show someone who may say, “yeah, but it is a book, you can make anything happen in it,” that God is that way in real life, not just in a book. I love that God connected all of you to promote this book, as well as the CD, to show the power of love and forgiveness.

I loved listening to you in this video. You are one of those people you can look at as they are speaking and know what they are saying is coming from their heart. You can see and feel God’s love radiating off of you. I have to tell you I was more than excited when I saw your book on the shelf in Utah. Had I not thought they would think I was completely crazy, I would have had to grab the book and go to the highest place in the bookstore and yell out, “my friend wrote this book!” Surely you would have come visited me where ever they ended up locking me up at…lol. :)

I’m so excited for you! AND I am sending this video to lots of my friends! :) Love and hugs to you, sweet friend!

    • Reply Kim Cash Tate August 31, 2011 at 8:52 am

Jessie, that’s why I’m excited about the video too, because it’s showing people this is how God is FOR REAL. Someone commented on Amazon that the book had a fairy tale ending. Well, I guess God is into fairy tale endings, because it doesn’t get much better than the healing and restoration He brought forth in Da’ T.R.U.T.H. and Nicole’s marriage. I’m thrilled that His power is on display in that video. And thank you again for letting me know you saw Cherished in Utah! I didn’t know it was there! That’s so cool…and maybe the whole blog community could’ve come to visit you if they locked you up! LOL Hugs to you, friend!

      • Reply Jessie August 31, 2011 at 4:54 pm

Oh, how fun would it have been to have the WHOLE blog community come and visit me!!! That would have almost made it worth it! We could get a jump start on having a blog community slumber party. :0)

    Hi Kim,
I was really moved by the interview and video with Da’ T.R.U.T.H. Going through something in my life being married helped me to know that God is a forgiver and we first must forgive ourselves in order to feel forgiven. Being children of God, we cannot hide anything from him and it is God that we must first realize that he is the first person that we sin against. No matter what it is sin is sin no matter how big and no matter how small.
I was in tears when I was listening to the video. We as Christians should take heed to the things when people acknowledge their wrong doings. God honors us when we admit our faults. He wants us to be humble enough to come to him when we come shortl in our Christian life.
I cannot wait to read Cherished. I pray that God continue to keep you and your family strong and prosperous.

    Be blessed…

    • Reply Kim Cash Tate August 31, 2011 at 11:15 am

Lisa, sounds like you gained much wisdom in what you went through yourself….the importance of humbling ourselves and admitting our wrongs to God…being able to forgive ourselves…and also taking heed when others admit their wrongdoings. Such truths need to always be on our hearts and lived out. So thankful for your support of Cherished! Many blessings to you as well. :)
