What Happens in Vegas…
This is the weekend! April 23-24, 2010 seemed far, far off way back in December, when I first learned that that was when I’d be speaking at my first Women of Faith conference. But wow, it’s here! I fly to Las Vegas this evening, and the conference starts tomorrow night.
As many of you know, a couple of weeks ago, I was under spiritual attack, dreading Vegas, doubting God could use me to do something I’ve never done—stand on a platform and deliver a God-glorifying message to thousands of women. But this week and last, He has shown Himself strong through His Word, through the ways He has spoken to my heart and strengthened my heart, and through the number of people who’ve told me they’re praying. I feel those prayers!
So now, I’m bouncing off the walls. I can’t wait to board that plane for Vegas. Can’t wait to get going with the conference. Can’t wait to see what God’s going to do through the worship music, the dramas, and the speakers. What’s that old saying? What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? I’m praying that what happens in Vegas will impact the lives of countless women who will then impact the lives of countless others way beyond Vegas. I’m praying that what happens in Vegas will bring God immense glory!
And um, while I have you…I’m still needing those prayers. :-) The prayer requests below are ones I shared with my prayer team. If you’re able to pray just one verse over me, that would be awesome!
John 3:30: That I would decrease and Jesus would increase in me, fully take over.
Ephesians 5:18 and Galatians 5:16: That I would be filled with the Spirit and walk by the Spirit.
Philippians 1:6: That I would be confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in me will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Psalm 24:4 That I would have clean hands and a pure heart.
2 Corinthians 10:5: That I would take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Psalm 121:7: That the Lord would protect me from all evil and keep my soul.
Ephesians 6:10-18: That I would be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. That I would put on the full armor of God, that I may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
And of course, Ephesians 3:20: That God would do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, for His glory, honor and praise!

Rebecca, thank you so much! What a powerful word of encouragement. Yes, He is my STRONG TOWER! And I’ve been praying the same thing you said, that His strength would be made perfect in my weakness. Thank you for giving me a big boost as I leave!
Just prayed and am SO excited for you and the women who will hear God’s word through you. I am amazed at what God IS doing in your life.
Thanking God AGAIN & AGAIN for a new friend. :)
Praying now for the hearts of women who heard you speak. That the Holy Spirit would continue His work and follow-up in their day-to-day lives. Praying for you as you “recover” from physical and emotional trip!
I am praying for you Kim. Be confident in the knowledge that God will never lead you to a place His grace can not sustain you. You will do exceedingly and abundantly above all you can imagine. Be blessed and have a wonderful time glorifying Him in Vegas!

I prayed for you today Kim. I know that GOD will use you in a mighty way to save souls and transform lives! You are covered and protected by GOD to deliver a life-changing message, so fear not.
Hi Kim! I just saw you today at the Women of Faith conference in Vegas. You were great! I loved listening to you tell your story with such honesty. I will admit that I had written my own story as well… and God had other plans. You see… I don’t like change. But God started making changes in my life and He isn’t finished yet. You were a great encouragement and I’m looking forward to seeing you in the future.
God Bless! :)
Hi Kim! I saw you in Vegas! I’m sooo proud of how you got up there and spoke for your first time in front of thousands of women! It takes courage and God gave that to you! You didn’t tell us how you got to the Women of Faith Porch so I came in to see if I could find out more! I too have had my life mapped out and God sure had other plans! Keep walking by that faith, Kim! I look forward to seeing you again!
I am glad that what happened in Vegas won’t stay in Vegas. Your talk on Saturday was a beautifully woven story of God’s power. I am rejoicing that women across this country have the opportunity to hear it through the Women of Faith venue. Can’t wait to see what God continues to do!
I am overwhelmed by all the comments I’ve come home to. Thank you to all of you who were praying before I spoke in Vegas!! God truly answered prayer. By His grace, I felt comfortable on that stage and could really tell He had taken over. Praise God!!
Mary Ann and Cyndi, y’all were such an awesome audience!! I know God blessed me to give my first message in Vegas, so I could be in front of encouraging women like you. Thank you!! So glad you took the time to stop by the site! :)
Marian, what a blessing to have you there. God provided in so many ways, and one HUGE way was that you, Cheryl, and LeeAnn were able to come. Love you and thank God for you!
God is able to more than we ask or imagine….this promise was made so apparent this past weekend. God outdid Himself! So many wonderful moments, heartfelt sharing, praise beyond compare (Luci Swindolll was “dancing in the aisle”!!) changed lives, fantastic fellowship–imagine…all in “Sin City.” God obviously views His people and His work there differently and it certainly showed. I feel so privileged and blessed to have been there personally. Kim, God used you and your message in a mighty way!
Hi Kimberly,
I just cam across your book last month “Heavenly Places” and couldn’t put the book down. Rather than loan the book out. I’m buying a couple for my friends and daughter.
When is your next speaking engagement and most of all your next book. Heavenly Places is so enlightening, I’m reading it again.
Hi Shirley! Wow, what a blessing! Thank you so much for stopping by…your words are so encouraging. I’m praising God that you were blessed by the book.
I’ll be speaking with Women of Faith again in the fall. The next engagement is Sept. 24-25 in Denver, then Nov. 5-6 in Kansas City, and Nov. 12-13 in Sacramento. Hope you can make it to one of those!
And my next book, Faithful, will be out in September! I’m really excited about it, and I’m praying that one will be a blessing to people as well.
Thank you so much for your support!
Many blessings,
Kim
Do you have any audio that can be purcahse? IF so, How can I purchase?
Interested in Audio? Are there any available for purchase?
Dear Ms. Tate,
I have read both of your books and I felt compelled to reach out to you because they were so very good. I eagerly wait for other books by you. Are you working on anything now? If so, when will it be out? I am a lawyer also. My husband and I have 6 children. God has His hand on us and is reshaping us to glorify Him. I was encouraged when I heard you speak via the Internet. I felt there was another lawyer out there that walked with Christ. I have a home office and I homeschool. I live in NY. I can do all things through Christ who lives in me. God Bless you richly.
Hi Tarsha, so great to hear from you! We have a lot in common, both lawyers who walk with Christ and homeschool! This fall, though, both of our kids will be in school after homeschooling 9 years. Thank you so much for your encouragement about my books! I’m definitely working on something right now. :) CHERISHED will be out September 1, and I’m writing the next novel that will release in 2012. I hope you like those as well! Thank you so much for your support and blessings to you as well.
