Hi Kim!
Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself. I love the photos by the ocean. I’m glad we met through our group of writers. I’ve had changes in my life too. I never expected to be writing books and articles. I was a teacher for almost 20 years when God set me in a different direction. But if you’re open to change (like you obviously were) the adventure is well worth it.
Blessings,
Cindy
Hey, Kim. Love the new website. But I love your heart even more. I love the way we “clicked” from the moment we met. The way God took two women from different parts of the country, but yet we share so much. Homeschooling. Parenting. Lawyers who rebelled against the formal legal environment. Writers. Chasers of God. You challenge and inspire me, woman. So excited to watch what God has for you!
Hey Kim, this is SO AWESOME! Very excited to be included in the twists and turns of your journey, dear sister! I know a little bit about rebellion, you know.
Wow, this is very challenging! I have no idea what to say (shocking?), but, I love to share. So, thanks for the opportunity.
First of all, there’s not very much that’s exceptional about me. I’m an average person, married to a wonderfully average man. I’m from an average dysfunctional family, living in an average community with average dysfunctional families.
What I do think is exceptional about me is that, I (Cheryl Bohlen) has been gifted, five healthy and very creative children, by God. You have no idea how amazing that is. How unlikely that is. How astonishingly, shocking that is for people who knew me before I knew Love.
I would like to say, however, that I love people and want them to know what love is. When I met Jesus, I found out what true love is and I came to realize that only He could practice it perfectly, without fail. Only because of that realization, grace fills my life at every turn and I want to continually be an extender of that grace. Much grace to you today Kim!
Kim,
What a great site. I am coming into one of those times of change. I have homeschooled for 10 years and that is coming to a close. God most definitely has a plan for my life, but I’m still seeking wisdom about where He wants me to join Him. My husband of 20 years and I are blessed with 4 very unique children. It always amazes me that they are all so different…God’ creativity at work. I look forward to seeing where God leads and am thankful for friends like you and those who keep up with God’s work through you who keep my eyes pointed toward him.
Hello. I came across your blog via Twitter. I am 37 years old. I am the mom of a 12 (almost 13 year old) daughter. I am a teacher of at risk kids. I am excited to be a part of this online community.
I don’t have much to say. My life is pretty average. This should be fun!
I’m so excited that you all are joining the discussion! The circle is widening! Let’s keep building community!
Hi Tamara! So excited you found me via Twitter. What’s your twitter name? Look me up at @kimcashtate. So glad you’ve joined us!
Kim, the more I learn about you the more I can’t wait to meet you in person. I’m not sure what to share about myself, like you, I’m not good in sharing “about me”. So, let me share what I always share in Sunday School when someone knew comes in: My name is Jessie, I work at the switchboard at a hospital, and I’m terminally single!
I can still remember the day that Wendell told me about this powerful Christian woman of faith that wrote an awesome book…though I haven’t had the honor to meet you in person, it has been wonderful to watch you on this journey.
Who am I? Depending on whom you speak to; a father of two, a brother, a unemployed American…..or a man after God’s heart….I find that those moments that define me the most are the ones that aren’t about me at all, but about the opportunity that God has presented to bring Him glory.
I am, simply, a child of the Most High God who has been blessed with a simplier gifting of writing (far below your level) and a desire burning within to find other children for Him to adopt……
Jessie, how can you say you’re terminally single? Where’s your faith?? :)
I agree, James…it’s not about us. “A man after God’s heart” says it all. And not sure what to say about that Wendell comment, except…far too kind.
hello kim,
let’s see…here is a bit about me. i have loved the lord all my life. i married my childhood sweetheart 37 years ago, and YES we are still in love :)
i have two adult children (a son and daughter) who each have 4 girls. that is a total of 8 granddaughters for me. :) i have lupus, and PI (primary immune defiency) which i am taking iv infusions for this. i have been on disablity since 1999 due to these, blessings. yep, said blessings! they have brought me to a different joy than what i had planned. i’ve learned so much from them…like paitence, empathy, endurance, and how to live in the momment. well..that’s me.
thank you for your website…i will pop in often.
Hi Kim,
It’s your FB friend Catrina. I love the website. It is so refreshing. I have been sharing your FB devotions with friends of mine who refuse to conform and join FB, so now I can email this link to them and they can track your devotions and blogs on their own :-) I was so excited to see that you will be near my town (Sacramento) for the Women of Faith Conference. The tickets are just about sold out and the conference is in November…Jesus! I am believing God that I will be able to go and possibly be able to give you a hug! I am thrilled that I have been able to follow your devotions. You have been such a blessing to me and your messages are ALWAYS right on time. As I have told you before, you have a fan for life! Many blessings to you… and I will be checking in regularly :-)
Rebecca, I’m always excited to hear about a long-lasting marriage–37 years! Praise God! So moving to hear that even though you suffer physical challenges, you regard them as a blessing. I know I can learn a lot from your example. So glad that you will pop in often! :)
Catrina!! So glad to see you here! I was hoping my FB buddies would come. :) You mean there are people who haven’t conformed and joined FB?? Actually, a lot of my friends haven’t either, so I do hope this blog will be a way for even more of us to hang out and fellowship. You have been a constant source of encouragement. Thankful for your cyber-friendship. :)
Hi Kim,
It was very interesting reading about “us”. I could feel God talking through you to me. I actually got hooked to you from my friend Tanya H. and have been blessed by your devotions for a few years.
There are books in my yearning to get out and I am dertermined to be obedient this year. I am also homeschooling, but I don’t know what I am doing, taking it day by day.
I have been married to a man for 20 years, that I would not marry again, and am crossroads to its future.
I know with God, things are never what they seem, and one of my favorite sayings, although, I wish it wasnt true, is that I would rather be in the fire in the middle of God’s Will, then out of the fire, and out of His Will.
I continue on, knowing and believing that all things work together for the good, of those who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose.
Love You, thanks for being obedient.
Hi Jacquie! So glad to meet you. Tanya has been a blessing to me for many years, and any friend of hers is a friend of mine. As I read your post, I could hear the pain of going “through,” yet I also hear your faith. When you mentioned you’d rather be in the fire in the middle of God’s will, it reminded me of a passage I love:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched.
Nor will the flame burn you.
For I am the LORD your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior” (Isaiah 43:1-3).
It’s never easy to be at a crossroads, but it sounds to me like you’re trusting Him…and there’s no better place to be. Praying God’s blessings upon you as you continue to wait and trust.
New to your site. Love it. Looking forward to hearing more from you
Hey Kelli! Thanks so much! So glad you stopped by. Looking forward to getting to know you. :)
Kim,
Love the photos, love the “About” part, love the “Faithful” excerpt and on and on and on…words cannot express how blessed I feel to have met you nearly 9 years ago through your book! Only God could’ve orchestrated that.
I can’t wait and I can only “imagine” what He has in store for you next!
Love, from “A Woman of Faith,”
Tanya
Hi Kim,
First, I love the new website! You and I connected after I read your, “Heavenly Places” book. I have given my copy to so many women that I don’t know who has it now! Like I shared in my first email on Heavenly Places, you told my story as a little girl, who also sought her mother’s approval. My issue was weight. As I read the excerpt from “Faithful” I have to ask, “When did you read my diary?” I will be turning 51 in May, I too am a workout queen, Tae Bo is my thing, with increasing my goals every month.
Again, when did you read my diary? I can’t wait for the release date!
Michele
Tanya, I’ve thanked God more times than I can count for connecting the two of us. You’ve blessed me in so many ways, not to mention being the first to read my first fiction manuscript and give feedback! Because of you, I had the motivation to send it to the publisher. Thank you for being you!
Michele, so good to see you over here! I’m so blessed by your enthusiasm for Heavenly Places. Thanks for sharing it with others. And hmm…I wonder if God was secretly revealing your diary to me so you could inspire both books. :) I can’t wait for you to read Faithful!
Just stopping by to say “hey”. Love the website. Such a blessing to have you as a friend. Continued blessings to you and the family. Love you lots!
Hey, sweet friend. It’s Sandra/Sandy/Snady. I love this site! About me? I’ve been married since 1971. Met him while working as a nurse in an OB/GYN office. He was a pharmaceutical salesman. Now in insurance. We both grew up in Michigan and lived in New Jersey, Georgia (3 times), Illinois, and Florida. Now back in Michigan. In the farmhouse he grew up in. We adopted 2 children along the way (now 21 and 25) and have a 7-year-old granddaughter with another in the oven. You name it. We’ve probably been through it. I learned inductive Bible study through Kay Arthur. I teach a ladies Bible study, and I write. Sometimes I fantasize being a Women of Faith speaker. Then I smack myself back into reality. I can scream really loud.
Love ya, girlfriend!
Hey! You already pointed the camera at me. For reals :-).
I’ve so loved meeting you first thru the internet as we crossed homeschooling paths, and now in person thru pictures. Tho we share many common interests (homeschooling, reading, coffee, love of beach & photography, exercise .. ok, not that we’re really all that interested in exercise – more like we both still want to have the bodies we had 20 years ago! haha) and similar life spaces (as women who love our husbands and kids … tho, I’m quite happy to leave the speaking & writing circuit to you!!!), the real thing that knits our hearts together is our love for Jesus.
I’m so thrilled WOF has found you! You’re such an encourager and your passion for God is sure to touch hearts.
Your new blog/web space is simply beautiful!!!
@Sandra/Sandy/Snady! :) I had no idea you’d been married that long! You look so young! What a blessing to have been able to enjoy so many years together. I love that we have inductive Bible study and Kay Arthur in common–that’s how I learned to study my Bible. Can’t imagine what my life would be like without her and Precept! Love ya too, girlfriend!
@Susan — you know I love you! Wow, didn’t even know we had ALL those common interests, including the one to look 20 years younger. ;) You amaze and inspire me with your skills. One day I’m going to sign up for that photography class you’re offering–oh, you didn’t know?? So thankful our hearts are knit together in Christ!
Hi, I just finished reading the synopsis of Faithful and got choked up. Reason being, Cyd is me. I turn 40 in less than two weeks and three days before my birthday, I am a hostess in the wedding of a dear friend who is more like my very young sister. Oh, and, yes, I am single and childess with a real sister (younger) who is married with a baby. I never thought I would be here and really been struggling with it for over 6 months or so. I am shaking my head at this. We are friends on Facebook and never once have I visited your page, but today I did and then to your website. I don’t know what it means, but I will say you sparked my interest with Faithful and can’t wait until I can purchase a copy.
Oh, and to just share some basics with you, I am originally from Baltimore, MD, but live in Charlotte, NC (3 years). I own a Public Relations firm. My clients are athletes, authors and actors. I am sold out for the Father and active in my church.
My name on Facebook is M. Gabrielle Wood.
May God continue to use you. Have a blessed time in Vegas. I look forward to reading all about it.
Peace and Continued Blessings,
Monica
Monica, wow! You really do have a lot in common with Cyd. I can only imagine the thoughts and questions in your mind as you approach your 40th birthday and this wedding. Not trying to sound cliche, but God really is faithful and will work this season together for good in your life. And when you see His handiwork, I want you to come tell me. :) I look forward to connecting with you more. So thankful you stopped by!
Hi Kim :- )
My name is Ellis, and I have been married to the love of my life, Tina, since August 1, 2008. I am a Philly native and Tina is originally from East Orange NJ, which makes football season really interesting at our house, with Tina being a NY Giants fan and me being a Philadelphia Eagles fan. But it’s all in fun.
I have to say that I am having more fun being married than I have had my entire life. I made a lot of bond-headed decisions in my life, and quite often hung out in the wrong crowd, yet God kept me despite me being hard-headed all those years. I reestablished my relationship with Jesus Christ on July 10, 2005 and since then, I look at things in a very different way. I haven’t read your book “More Christian Than African-American” yet, but the title and synopsis suggests similar experiences that I have (and continue to have) as it relates to being in Christ.
I am an entrepreneur in the area of Christian retail. The Burning Bush Christian Bookstore & Café is an idea that was birthed out of wanting to meet the need for providing access to Christian products in a center city environment. I came across your blog while building up my database of products to sell for the website, which is the first phase of the venture. Next year or so we will begin to open stores.
My wife has encouraged me throughout the entire business start-up process. Despite various setbacks and challenges, we stand firmly by each other in our endeavors. It has been said that financial challenges are in the top three things that breaks families up. Yet, with us, they seem to draw us closer together to form a united front against whatever the world throws at us. A common misnomer is that the man/husband is the head of the household, but that is not totally correct. It is my belief that as a Christian, God should be the head of the household, and when people replace Him with other stuff, that is when “family” begins to deteriorate.
But I digress…
I really enjoy and appreciate the creativity and spontaneity behind your blog, and I look forward to reading more of your work. Have a great day!!!
ellis
Hey Ellis! I loved reading a little about your story. How awesome that you’ve had more fun being married than you’ve had your entire life! I love it, and what a testament to God’s grace and goodness. Joy and humor go a long way in a marriage. One of my biggest blessings is that after 17 years of marriage, my husband is the one who makes me laugh the most.
The Burning Bush Christian Bookstore & Cafe sounds wonderful! I wish you well in that endeavor, and I’m so glad you came across this blog as you researched! Once you get the website up, come back and post a link. I look forward to keeping in contact.
And by the way, I grew up a Redskins fan, so both of your teams are rivals! :)
@Kim Cash Tate,
Hi Kim!!!
I am pleased to announce that the online version of our bookstore, The Burning Bush Christian Bookstore ( http://TBBbookstore.com ) up now and running :- )
We are still in the process of uploading much of our inventory (should be done in a week or so), but your newest release, Faithful, is currently being offered. Your profile can also be viewed in the authors section as well. Thank you again for all of your support, and it was good meeting you at the Faith & Fiction retreat in Atlanta earlier this summer. Take care!!!
Regards,
Ellis
Ellis, that’s awesome! I’ve been perusing the site and it’s beautiful! Congrats to you! Thank you so much for including Faithful. I pray God’s blessings upon you and your family and this business. Enjoyed meeting you as well and looking forward to connecting in the future!
hey kim! i came across your page from my friend jen thigpen’s site (twitter, actually). love it! i grew up in waldorf, both my parents grew up in PG county. even though i am in NC now, DC will always be home.
i have a worship ministry and am going to serve on staff as the worship and missions pastor for a church plant in raleigh this fall. so excited! i love jen–she is such a blessing and encouragement at all times. i know you both are blessing women like crazy while with WOF.
looking forward to checking out more of your stuff and hope to meet you someday! be blessed!!
Hey Marissa!
A DC girl! :) So great to meet you! How exciting that you’ll be serving as worship and missions pastor for a church plant in Raleigh. You’ll be blessing people like crazy as well. :) We’re in NC every summer for our family reunion, and have lots of family in Raleigh. Maybe our paths will cross one day! I’m so glad I’ve been able to get to know Jen this year…such an amazing talent!
I’m SO glad you stopped by. Let’s keep connected. I know God will do great things through you in this worship ministry. Many blessings to you!
Hey Kim! What a blessing you have been to me already in a few short minutes that I have “stumbled” across your website and your posts. God is good, isn’t He!
I am 40 (ewwww, that is so hard to say), married for 22 years to a police officer, have three kids 21, 18 and 14, live in the St. Louis area as well, and yes, I still have my sanity!
I have written and published two books and do a lot of speaking, though actually, God has benched me for awhile.
I so appreciate your story about how God orchestrated your life. I’ve been struggling…really struggling with all the ups and downs of being a writer and trying to get published, etc.
I know God called me into this, and keeps speaking words of encouragement and purpose to me, but at times I want to give up.
This week in particular, has been a tough one, and I’ve finally surrendered myself, my will, and my work to Him.
I feel as if He brought me to this site for another round of “See, nothing’s impossible for Me” dose. Thanks!!!!
Hugs and blessings to you!
Hi Kristi!
I’m so glad you “stumbled” across my site too! God knows just what we need when we need it, doesn’t He?
Thank you so much for sharing about yourself. How awesome that you’ve been married 22 years! I always applaud long marriages. What a blessing from God.
I know exactly what you mean about being benched for a while. After my first book was published, I thought I’d be writing many more right away, but God said, “Nope.” For years, I was at home with my children, thinking I’d never write again, and God wanted me to be okay with that. I NEVER thought I’d write fiction. And then one day a story started forming in my mind.
You probably know exactly what I’m going to say, right? :) If you know that God has called you to write, and you keep getting words of encouragement and purpose, then keep standing in faith. It may look for a season like things aren’t happening, but waiting is all part of God’s process.
When you’ve surrendered to Him, you can’t go wrong. I’m so glad He led you here for another does of “nothing is impossible with God!” NOTHING!
Hugs and blessings to you too!
Kim
Hi Kim,
After being Facebook friends for a while, it was nice to finally meet you at the Faith & Fiction Retreat even though we didn’t talk :). Next time, we will chat until someone says stop :)
Blessings,
Author- Sharon Oliver
Hi Sharon!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I had such a great time at the Faith & Fiction Retreat. I really wish we had time to talk, but I totally agree–next time, we chat until someone says stop! :) Let’s connect on Facebook in the meantime.
Many blessings to you,
Kim
Just wanted to stop in and say HI!! Thank you so much for being an inspiration. I loved reading about your journey!
Hi Nikki!
So glad you stopped by! I’m so thankful you were inspired. Just got your email, and I know God is going to lead you on your writing journey. Keep believing!
Many blessings,
Kim
Hey sis! Just so you know, I think you’re beautiful inside and out. I feel like we’ve known each other for a while, though we’ve never personally met. I love your spirit. I love your smile. And your heartfelt love for Christ is amazing. I was just perusing a few authors’ websites, as I, myself, await the return word of a probable house for my manuscript, and since you are personally one of my favorite, I thought I’d visit. When I saw your encouragemtn to say hello..well, I did!
Take care and keep writing!
Aww, hey sis! You sure brought a smile to my face. :) Feels like I know you too…the beauty of social media! You are always an encouragement to me. Thank you!! Your heartfelt love for Christ is amazing as well. I wish you well as you seek a house for your manuscript. Be sure to keep me updated!
I’m so glad you stopped by and let me know you were here. Love connecting with you!
Many Blessings,
Kim
Hello, dear Kim. God is so sneaky some days with how He gets our attention, you know? “Crazy believing”: exactly the challenge I needed today. So thank you, dear alive heart, for your vulnerability and your invitation into this little piece of community with you. I’m a counselor here in Holland, MI with a specialty in sex therapy. Here are two things I love: Jesus and healthy sexuality. I was drawn to this field because of all of God’s grand metaphors in Scripture that people just miss. His heart for joyous sex is abundant, and unfortunately, all too often, I’ve had conversations with people who’ve had no place to process and no one to journey with. The church, too, has mishandled sexual issues…badly. I want to be a redemptive voice for sexuality and walk with hurting people, journeying in their stories as they find hope for reclaiming their bodies and renewing their intimate lives. Thank you, again, for your authenticity, and for being a vessel of God’s “Hey Sarah, I love you!” in my day! Blessings be yours, dear one.
Hello Sarah! Thank you for accepting my invitation into this little piece of community here. :) And thank you for sharing your unique calling. I love that you’re a “redemptive voice” in this area. Almost all of what we hear about sexuality is negative, and yet God had a very divine and wonderful purpose. Blessings upon you as you reclaim this area for God’s glory. So glad He spoke His love for you when you stopped by!
Hi Kim,
I am just someone who loves to read and if its faith based even the better. I was browsing through Amazon looking for my next book to read after almost a two year hiatus. My pleasure reading had to be put aside after I return to college in order to complete my bachelors degree last August of 2009. It was a journey I had to stop pursuing 23 years earlier due to relocation, working and then the birth and raising of our son. After sending him off to college, the Lord opened a door for me to complete what I had started. Again God shows me that with Him all things are possible, my brain still works after 40 figuring out the most complex of college course material and finally its never too late to complete a journey no matter how much time has gone by.
So back to you… I was looking for a website of Christian authors and there was a list that said if you like Neta Jackson then you will Kim Cash Tate. Just as simple as that. So I look forward to reading Faithful.
Many Blessings to you.
Deanna
Deanna, so awesome to hear about your educational journey! I rejoice with you that you were able to return to school and complete your bachelor’s degree! Yes, with God, all things are possible!!
I’m super excited to hear that a website mentioned Neta Jackson and me together. I LOVE Neta Jackson. In fact, I have an interview with her in the back of Faithful. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing here. I do hope you enjoy and are blessed by Faithful!
Hi, came across your blog today from the WOF site. I like this idea and I can relate as I’d rather keep the spotlight off me. Who knows how life will turn out – but as you say as long as God’s in control, I’M ALL IN.
I’m married – 22 years in March 11 – have 4 children and a wonderful husband.
God is truly amazing.
My favorite verse – James 4:8.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m thrilled that you found me from the WOF site. And what a blessing to have been married 22 years to a wonderful husband, with 4 children. God IS truly amazing, and long marriage is an awesome gift. Many continued blessings, my friend!
Hi Kim, Just finished reading More Christian… What a wonderful book. I heard an interview you did on Christian radio in Chicago a few months ago and felt COMPELLED to read the book. My local library had to special order it and it took some time to get it in, but I thank God to finally get my hands on it. Can’t wait to read your next 2 books. By the way, I was a hostess with WOF for 6 years when they came to Chicago. Hope you and the WOF team come back to the windy city. Maybe I’ll get blessed to serve you!
Hi Sherlena!
Wow, I can’t believe you felt compelled to read the book, and actually special ordered it at the library. Thank you so much for taking the time to send me this note. And how great that you were a hostess with WOF in Chicago! I love Chicago and visit from time to time because my husband grew up there. You never know…maybe they will come back to the windy city soon!
Many blessings, and thanks so much again!
Kim
Hi Kim,
I love your website! I bought your book Faithful from Borders. I cannot wait to read it. I am a newly wed…will celebrate my first year anniversary next month. I am a registered nurse in the New Orleans and write on the side. I started writing devotionals in 2006 while in school. I will love to publish one day:) I accepted Christ at the age of 7 and rededicated my life at 21. Currently, I’ve been busy with marriage, grad school, work, and serving the Lord. I pray for His guidance and strength in the new year. I also pray that God continues to bless you and your family. Thank you for your obedience, courage, and faithfulness…very admirable. Keep up the great work!
Hi Irielle!
So glad to meet you! How awesome that you’re a newlywed! Such an exciting time of life for you. Also exciting to hear that you write devotionals and hope to publish one day. I admire your work as a registered nurse, because I know that you are tending to your patients with the love of the Lord. May God bless you and your marriage, as well as everything you put your hand to.
Thank you so much for supporting Faithful! I pray it blesses you. And I so appreciate your words of encouragement. Keep in touch!
Many blessings,
Kim
Hello Kim,
I have been an avid reader since the age of 18 – now i am 50 – this is the second time i have been strongly led to contact an author. Just finished Heavenly Places – borrowed it from the library then finally bought a copy of my own. i can’t begin to tell you how this book has affected me spiritually! I will be purchasing many more for gifts. Many blessings to you and your family! looking forward to reading more of your wonderful writings.
Hi Andrea!
Wow! I am so touched that you’re an avid reader, yet this is only the second time you’ve been strongly led to contact an author. That SO encourages me! And I’m so blessed to hear that you were affected spiritually by Heavenly Places. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with me, and for your support in sharing the book with others!
Many blessings,
Kim
Hi Kim
All I can is wow to your book “Faithful” I love reading, and have read lots of books and I am definately placing Faithful on my favourites pile. I’ve just finished reading it and my heart broke when I came to the end, I wish it had a sequel.
Im a 27 yr old single woman living in Australia, originally from Africa. God revealed to me through your book that his answers can come in an unexpected way because his ways are not our ways. As Christians when we’ve praying for a long time about things we tend to form mental pictures of what the answers are going to look like and can miss what God is doing. Thank you and looking forward to “Cherished”. God bless.
HiTait!
Aw, how awesome that “Faithful” has made your favorites pile! It’s such an answer to prayer to hear that the book spoke to you regarding your relationship to God and how He works in our lives. That truly uplifts me. Thank you so much for reading it and sending these encouraging words. I think you’ll enjoy Cherished as well. :-)
Many blessings,
Kim
Thanks so much, Kim:) Nursing is a very rewarding field; it’s my ministry. My goal is to show my patients’ God’s undying love and mercy. May God continue to bless you and your fam. Have a blessed week!
Hi Kim

I just finished reading your book Faithful, and I thought it was great! In addition, it was a great surprise that you are actually an alumni of my college UMD. I pray God’s continued blessings and favor over your life!

Blessings to you as well!
Kim
My name is Shirley and I’m 36 years old. I am a home-schooling mother of two (nine yr.old son & four yr.old daughter,) and I’m two pregnants right now. I am also college educated with a B.S. in English, and I’m now working on my Masters in Fine Arts in Writing at Lindenwood University in St.Charles, MO where I live and have lived for 6 1/2 years now. I am in needing of learning how to color my prespective in Christ, because as long as I’ve been “saved” sometimes I think I’m still not! I know that sounds terrible. But one thing I have gotten on this journey with Christ is that I should and must be honest. “Thou shalt not lie” isn’t that one of them? I want to be all that I am called to be, and God is calling me to be a lot. A mother, a wife to a man that is called into the ministry, a teacher to my kids, and a writer. But sometimes I just feel like I’m failing all the time! It has to be better than this. So I am hoping that being a part of your blog would be a blessing and a help to me.
Oh, Shirley, I so hear your heart, but please don’t think you’re failing all the time. You’re doing so many great things, and please don’t think you have to do them in your own strength. God gives abundant grace to do the things He calls us to do. I’m so glad you’ll be part of this blog. We’re all learning to color our perspective day-to-day. I hope you take an active part. So many women who comment on the blog have great wisdom. I’m looking forward to growing with you, sis.
Hi Kim, It was great to see Bill on Pastor’s Appreciation Day, we all asked, “Where is Kim”, Bill assured us, all was well at home. Kim you’ve got to come to Madison, I can’t tell you how much you’ve been missed. My youngest son is on his was to Kawait. Keep him in your prayers. I’m on a mission reaching out to all thoses prayer worriors who I know in my heart will lift his name up in Prayer daily to Almighty and everlasting God. Darnell will be back and still covered with the covering of the blood of Jesus. Sis. D
Sister Diane!! Yes, Bill told me he saw you! I miss all of you as well! I have such fond memories of all of you, and I hope you’re doing well. It’s hard to believe that Darnell is grown up and headed to Kuwait. May the Lord watch over him and keep him and draw him closer to Himself during this time. Darnell is blessed to have a strong, praying momma. :) Praying God’s blessings upon you, Sister Diane. Love you!
Hi Kim,
It was a treat to hear you today in Columbus! I also got to observe you up close at the signing table as I was one of the ushers assigned to that area. You are so pretty and were so attentive to those who waited in line to meet you! I’m sure you were quite tired by that point but you were radiant just the same. Thanks for being faithful to what the Lord has called you to – your light shines brightly!
Blessings to you,
Mary – Westerville OH
Hi Mary,
Your post was so uplifting. I got it Saturday evening when I truly was drained :), and it brought a smile to my face. It’s a privilege and honor for me to meet people who are waiting in line…I’m surprised they even want to meet me! But I’m so very thankful to hear that you felt my light was shining. Praise God. I so appreciate that you’d take the time to encourage me this way. Thank you for serving as an usher. I pray it was a blessed weekend for you! Blessings to you, too, Mary!
I’m glad it lifted your spirits – I’m taking time to explore more of your website now – I think it will be inspiring. Don’t know HOW you keep up with so many people around the country. :) Hope your weekend is wonderful!
Hey Kim,
It’s so good to catch up with a former St. Margaret’s Alum. You’ve been very inspiring to me and I thank you!
Hey Cheryl! I LOVE catching up with former St. Margaret’s Alum. It was SO long ago, and we’re so spread out, yet with technology, here we are. :) Thank you so much for that sweet encouragement. That truly blesses me! Love that we’re connected again.
